For most creative professionals, the line between business and personal is often blurred. We’ll be interested to see how Amazon handles or tracks issues related to people breaking the terms of service. In short, you can’t use this service for business it’s for personal use only. “You may not use the Service to store, transfer or distribute content of or on behalf of third parties, to operate your own file storage application or service, to operate a photography business or other commercial service, or to resell any part of the Service” In the terms of service under section 1.2 Amazon states that: This “too good to be true” offer does come with a bit of a catch – okay, actually a lot of a catch. The app also comes in a desktop version that works by simple drag-and-drop. Using the Amazon Cloud Drive app, you can upload and download files from your mobile and desktop devices. You can try a free 3 month unlimited plan on the Amazon Cloud Drive home page. If you need to backup your hard drives, video footage, or assets, this plan is a whole lot cheaper than simply buying more hard drives. Unlimited EverythingĪs the name implies, the Unlimited Everything plan allows users to upload an unlimited amount of content, no matter what it is. This has great implications for photographers and some implications for filmmakers as RAW DNG files can be easily uploaded as well. This includes JPEGs, Adobe DNG, Nikon NEF, Canon CR2, and Sony ARW. The photo plan offers users the ability to upload an unlimited number of photos to their Amazon Drive for only $12 a year ($1 a month). ![]() ![]() The service is very similar to those offered by DropBox and Google Drive, but the main difference is the price point.Īmazon’s new storage plans come in two flavors: Prime Photos and Unlimited Everything. ![]() In a recent press release, Amazon announced that they will be introducing an unlimited cloud storage program for consumers.
